About The Project
As a partner and designer at LitBuild, I developed two business class LCD 3D printers. I led the design of the product form, touchscreen interface, and control panel. I also created a complete Visual Identity (VI) and Product Identity (PI) for our brand and products. Based on my research, I introduced automation for tasks like platform leveling and material refill/cleaning, improving user experience. This project won an investment of over 1 million CNY. During my partnership, we secured multiple patents and managed to develop two cutting-edge machines.

This is LitBuild’s first completed and commercially available machine and is currently one of the largest LCD photopolymerization 3D printers on the market in terms of build volume. It is capable of rapidly printing large-scale models and batch printing smaller models. I designed its form, structure and interactable parts. To address the drawbacks of traditional LCD printers, such as the cumbersome cleaning of resin residues and the need for manual material replenishment, I led the design and implementation of automatic cleaning and automatic material replenishment functionalities.
This is the world’s fastest resin 3D printer built in LitBuild’s lab, where we successfully achieved continuous printing at 540mm per hour (with a peak speed of up to 720mm). This breakthrough opens up possibilities for mass production of products that cannot be manufactured using traditional molding techniques. Due to my interdisciplinary knowledge and skills, I am not only the team’s designer but also heavily involved in technical development and machine construction.
